About Akcja Menstruacja
The Akcja Menstruacja Foundation was born out of necessity — quite literally. Its mission is to combat period poverty in Poland while fostering openness and awareness around menstruation. The foundation achieves this through educational initiatives and continuous support for schools, public institutions, and individuals in crisis.
One of their flagship projects is the menstrual box — a curated set of free hygiene products delivered to schools nationwide. Having access to these essentials often brings real change to the daily lives of many students.
From idea to action – logistics matter
Running a nationwide support initiative requires more than heart and dedication — it needs a well-thought-out logistics system. The foundation regularly receives deliveries of menstrual products, assembles the boxes, sorts them, and ships them across Poland. A permanent, accessible storage space became essential to maintain the flow of operations.

How It Works in Practice
In the rented unit, the foundation stores both menstrual products (pads, tampons, menstrual cups) and the ready-to-ship boxes that are sent to schools. In many cases, the packing and sorting stages also happen directly inside the unit — turning it into a mini operational hub.
With 24/7 access to the space, volunteers can work when needed, free from bureaucracy or time constraints.
Impact of the Collaboration
Self storage isn’t just about storage — it’s a practical tool that genuinely supports the foundation’s mission. The ability to store supplies safely and in an organised way allows them to operate more efficiently and with a broader reach.
